Bulgarian Defence Minister Atanas Zapryanov held a videoconference call with Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umerov on May 21, Zapryanov's Ministry said in a press release on Wednesday. 

Umerov congratulated Zapryanov on his appointment and thanked Bulgaria for the support for, and active cooperation with, Ukraine.

The Bulgarian Defence Minister stressed that providing military and military technological assistance to Ukraine, including support for its Euro-Atlantic integration, is among the priorities of the incumbent Bulgarian caretaker Cabinet in the field of defence and will continue on the basis of the resolutions passed by the National Assembly and building on what has been done so far.

The opportunities for strengthening cooperation in security and defence also figured on the agenda of the conversation.
