site.bta Defence Minister Stoyanov, UK's Europe Minister Docherty Discuss Defence Cooperation
Bulgarian Defence Minister Dimitar Stoyanov and the UK's Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Europe, Leo Docherty, discussed bilateral defence relations in Sofia on Thursday. Attending the meeting were British Ambassador Rob Dixon and Deputy Defence Minister Teodora Genchovska.
Stoyanov noted the excellent relations between the two countries as NATO Allies and partners in joint challenges and initiatives. He thanked Britain for its support and cooperation.
The Bulgarian Defence Minister briefed Docherty on what has been done so far in terms of modernization projects, as well as on the Ministry's main objectives and challenges.
Docherty thanked Bulgaria for the fruitful cooperation and for its efforts to support Ukraine. He stressed that Bulgaria and the United Kingdom are close NATO Allies and expressed confidence that their defence relations will continue to strengthen.
