In January-February 2023, a total of 1,278 third-country nationals were detained. Of these, 88 entered the state border, 179 exited without registration, and 1,011 people were found to be illegally staying inside the country. Compared to the total number of detainees in the same period of 2022 (2,086), a 38.7% decrease was reported, indicate show data on illegal migration by the Interior Ministry for February.

Police information shows that a total of 647 third-country nationals were detained in February, of which 42 were on entry, 81 were on exit without registration, and 524 were found to be illegally staying inside the country. Their number was 2.5% more compared to the previous month (631 people).

As of February 28, a total of 2,019 third-country nationals were accommodated in homes of the Refugee Agency. The accommodation capacity was at 53.4% full. Most of the people were from Afghanistan (160) and Syria (1,708). As of the same date, 463 people were accommodated in the homes of the Migration Directorate. Capacity was at 43.7%.
