Shumen Regional Governor Prof. Hristo Hristov appeals to the residents of the region to participate with proposals for a motto of the Shumen Region under the Rozhen Flagpole project, which envisages the construction of a 111-metre pylon on the Rozhen meadows, on which the Bulgarian national flag will be flown. The flagpole will be erected at an altitude of 1,430 m, it will be the highest in the European Union and the flag will be visible from miles away. For this purpose, a national donation campaign "Bulgaria deserves" has been launched under the auspices of President Rumen Radev. The project will be implemented entirely with donations from patriotic Bulgarians, and with the cooperation of state and local authorities.

It is planned that 28 messages from all administrative districts in the country will be engraved at the base of the marble slab with the map of Bulgaria. Each message will be inscribed on the map in the place of the respective district it comes from and will remain for future generations.

In this regard and to most accurately represent the peculiarities and unique features of Shumen District, the District Administration announces a competition for a motto of Shumen District. The slogan must contain up to 7 words and be in Bulgarian. Until February 17, anyone who wishes to participate can make their proposal and submit it to the District Administration of Shumen e-mails (oashumen@oblastshumen.government.bg; press@oblastshumen.government.bg) or at the Service Centre in the Administration building, at 30 Slavyanski Blvd.

A jury will examine and select the proposals received. The first-ranked message will be sent to be engraved on the marble plaque and its author will receive a prize.
