The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) has issued a yellow code warning for heavy rainfall in seven regions of Bulgaria on Wednesday. The warning is in effect for the regions of Vidin, Vratsa, Montana, Sofia Region, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv and Smolyan.
According to the NIMH weather forecast, winds across the country will shift to west-northwesterly on Wednesday, with the change occurring latest in the eastern regions. Winds will be moderate to strong and will bring relatively cool air into the country. Cloud cover will be variable, often considerable, with cumulus and cumulonimbus clouds.
Scattered brief showers and thunderstorms are expected in many parts of the country, moving from west to east.
