The Different and Together exhibition of works by residents of the Home for Adults with Physical Disabilities opens at the Stara Zagora Cultural Centre on August 3, the municipal administration said on Sunday.
The display includes paintings and art installations, all collaborative works by residents of the home. Through their art, the artists show that creativity has no limits and deserves recognition and public support. Created using a range of techniques, the works convey their sensitivity, imagination and personal view of the world around them, the press release says.
The Different and Together exhibition is dedicated to the strength of the human spirit, talent and creative inspiration. It aims to encourage artistic expression among people with physical disabilities, bring their talent greater visibility and support their full participation in public life. Its message is that differences enrich society and art is a bridge to understanding, solidarity and acceptance, the organizers said.
That the exhibition was displayed in the National Assembly’s Marble Lobby in July. At the beginning of the year, the Sts Cosmas and Damian Day Centre for Adults with Disabilities in Stara Zagora presented its inVISIBLE project to the public. It comprises 12 photographs of people using the social service.
