The Council of Ministers is launching a 24-hour hotline and an email from July 1 for submitting reports of abuse of power, corruption, and conflicts of interest. The contact details have been published on the Council of Ministers’ website, Prime Minister Rumen Radev said at the start of Wednesday’s government meeting.

The hotline number is 02/940 3000, as stated on the Council of Ministers’ website. The email address for submitting reports is signal_anticorruption@government.bg.

He also said that the government will propose legislative changes allowing the involvement of private capital, which he said would significantly reduce corruption and enable the state to focus its resources on education, science, healthcare, security, sports, and other sectors.

Until such reforms are implemented, the Prime Minister expects the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works to conduct swift and thorough inspections of road repairs and construction projects, ending what he described as “blind payments based only on invoices and fictitious documents.” He added that accountability will be sought from civil servants who sign off on the acceptance of substandard works.
