It would be a good idea for President Iliana Iotova to convene a Consultative Council for National Security, There Is Such a People (TISP) MP Stanislav Balabanov told journalists in Parliament here on Wednesday. His comment was prompted by the situation in the Middle East.

As a conservative party, TISP is concerned about how Bulgaria would cope with potential migratory pressure that could be unleashed as a result of this conflict, Balabanov added.

“Go and ask Nadezhda Neynsky (Minister of Foreign Affairs) and the Minister of Defence, who lied in Parliament last week about the situation in Iran,” said TISP Floor Leader Toshko Yordanov.

TISP once again called for the resignation of caretaker Minister of Agriculture and Food Ivan Hristanov.

“Together with our entire parliamentary group, we are going to the Ministry of Agriculture to try to hold the hearing of Hristanov that did not take place today in the plenary chamber,” Balabanov said.

Last Thursday, TISP demanded the dismissal of Agriculture and Food Minister Hristanov over recruitments he has made. Balabanov read out a declaration with their demands in Parliament, accusing Hristanov of conflicts of interest, political favoritism, and questionable appointments in a parliamentary declaration.
