Ivan Hristanov has been nominated as caretaker Minister of Agriculture and Food in the Gurov draft cabinet.

Hristanov was born in Sofia on December 24, 1973, according to information posted on the Edinenie (Unity) political party website. Hristanov was among the people who founded the party in 2025.

Graduated from the University of National and World Economy in Sofia with degrees in agricultural economics and in accounting and control.

Began working at the Sofia office of the international accounting firm TMF, then joined the finance department of the Storko canning factory in Pleven, North Central Bulgaria. The company was sold to BNP Paribas Personal Finance in 2007.

Founded the high-tech consumer finance company JetFinance International in 2001. Six years later, it was employing more than 2,850 people. After the sale, Hristanov became a partner in Empower Capital and Silver Line.

Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) MP in the 47th Parliament. Deputy agriculture minister in the Kiril Petkov cabinet. Left CC-DB in February 2023.
