Bulgarian President Iliana Iotova held talks with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic on the sidelines of the 62nd Munich Security Conference, Iotova's press secretariat reported here on Saturday.

Key topics included the upcoming Three Seas Initiative summit, hosted this year by Croatia. The initiative, which Bulgaria chaired in 2021, aims to deepen cooperation in energy, transport, and digital sectors among 13 European Union countries.

President Iotova and Prime Minister Plenkovic also discussed the growing divide within the EU and the trend toward a “two-speed Europe” led by larger member states, emphasizing that the Union must adapt to meet contemporary challenges.

The leaders exchanged views on the prospects for faster European integration of Ukraine, agreeing that accession must follow established rules and that Ukraine must meet all necessary criteria to become a full EU member.
