The Council of Ministers on Wednesday adopted the Annual Report on the State of National Security of the Republic of Bulgaria in 2024, the government press service reported, covering the outgoing cabinet's weekly meeting.
The main purpose of the Annual Report, prepared after summarizing the contributions of 27 institutions, is to present the analysis, assessment, and recommendations of the executive branch regarding the challenges, risks, dangers, and threats facing the country, as well as the effectiveness of the policy for protecting national security.
The report notes that the international security environment in 2024 was characterized by high instability, escalating military conflicts, and expanding hybrid threats, which placed Bulgaria in a strategically risky position.
The report outlines the main activities of ministries and agencies related to countering threats to national security. It sets out the main results of the work of the security services and public order services in protecting national security.
