A yellow code for 18 regions has been issued by the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology for Monday.
The warning is in effect for Varna, Veliko Tarnovo, Vidin, Vratsa, Gabrovo, Dobrich, Kyustendil, Lovech, Montana, Pernik, Pleven, Razgrad, Ruse, Silistra, Sofia City, Sofia Region, Targovishte, and Shumen.
In the mountains, low temperatures combined with wind will create conditions for rapid freezing.
A green code is in place for the rest of the country, which is comprised of the regions of Blagoevgrad, Burgas, Kardzhali, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv, Sliven, Smolyan, Stara Zagora, Targovishte, Haskovo, Shumen, and Yambol, meaning that no dangerous weather has been forecast for it.
