In 2025, zoos across Bulgaria welcomed many newborns. Baby animals of various species both attracted more visitors and, in some cases, contributed to the conservation of endangered and vulnerable species.

At Sofia Zoo, two monkeys were born last year: a female Hanuman langur named India - after the country where the animal is considered sacred - and a pig-tailed macaque. Among the newborns of 2025 were also the alpaca Snezhko, who brought the number of alpacas at Sofia Zoo to six, and the bison Maria, the second of her species born at the zoo and the fourth bison there. Sofia Zoo also welcomed its second newborn zebra, meerkats, Patagonian maras, and twin Barbary sheep. The snow leopards, which are classified as a vulnerable species, have formed a pair, so there could be cubs this year.

In July 2025, Varna Zoo welcomed a cub of the vulnerable African leopard species. Victoria was born to 12-year-old Chiara and 13-year-old Amir, who have been living at the zoo since 2022. Later in the summer, a red-necked wallaby was born. The small kangaroo is the first baby for mother Kelly, who herself was born at Varna Zoo a year earlier.

Burgas Zoo welcomed the winter holidays with a snow-white alpaca newborn. Also among the newborns of 2025 were nutrias, 12 coatis, two monkeys of the white-headed marmoset species, and an exotic breed of black chickens.

Stara Zagora Zoo contributed to the conservation of the critically endangered Bengal tiger with a cub born in November 2025, the first ever born there. He is the firstborn of Karina and Belcho, who have been a pair for eight years. Earlier in 2025, Stara Zagora Zoo welcomed three raccoon cubs - Aneliya, Diana, and Veska - and a llama named Katya.
