The exchange of leva for euro has begun in all post offices in Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Post is doing well, outgoing Deputy Prime Minister and Transport and Communications Minister Grozdan Karadjov told journalists here on Monday.

He pointed out that new printers and counting machines were working successfully across the country when he stopped in the western village of Dolni Bogrov to exchange currency at the local post office. Karadjov noted that his visit was unannounced, yet the employee was prepared and the coin and banknote counting machines were working.

"We are receiving the same feedback from all other post offices," Karadjov stated, adding that the first exchange of currency at a post office in Bulgaria took place in the village of Stamboliyski in Haskovo Region (Southeast Bulgaria).

He expressed gratitude to all postal service workers for their efforts.
