site.btaBulgaria's Euro Adoption Will Improve Quality of Life, Says Official from Ruse University Branch in Taraclia
First-year students in Business and Management from the Ruse University branch in Taraclia, Moldova, took part in the launch of the latest issue of BTA's LIK magazine, focused on "Bulgarian Money", at BTA's press club in the city.
The students were accompanied by Alexander Borimecicov, Administrative Director of the Ruse University branch in Taraclia. He thanked the BTA press club for the invitation and for giving first-year Business and Management students the opportunity to engage with a topical and practical subject closely linked to Bulgaria's monetary policy. According to Borimecicov, Bulgaria's entry in the euro area directly affects the educational process. "All case studies, assignments and practical exercises studied by our Business and Management students will now be calculated in euro rather than Bulgarian leva," he said.
"I hope this transition will be beneficial and improve the quality of life for all Bulgarians. For us, who receive funding from Bulgaria, it will also be simpler, as the funding of the Ruse University branch used to be converted from leva to euro, and will now be received directly in euro. This applies to operational costs and salaries, as well as to scholarships," Borimecicov said.
According to Cristina Pitel, the event was very useful. "We learned many new and interesting things, including terms I was not familiar with before," she said.
Valentina Vitkova noted that this was the first time she had attended such an event, and described the topic as particularly engaging. "I was especially interested in the historical aspects related to coins and currency. I was also very impressed by the visual materials, the photographs and the story of the gold coin," she said. "The topic was presented in a detailed and well-structured manner, and will certainly be useful to us in the future, including in our studies at the faculty."
Svetlana Speanu said: "Being Bulgarians from Moldova, we are not indifferent to the processes taking place in Bulgaria. Personally, I do not support the introduction of the euro, as Bulgarian coins and currency are part of the country's historical memory. This was my first time taking part in such an event, and it was really useful."
