Government Proposes Mathematician and Educator Prof. Sava Grozdev for Recipient of Balkan Range Order

The Council of Ministers proposes that Prof. Dr. Sava Grozdev be awarded the Balkan Range Order, First Class, for his contribution in the fields of education and mathematical sciences, on the occasion of his 75th birthday.

Grozdev was born on July 13, 1950. He graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics at Sofia University  in 1974. Prof. Grozdev is the author of a system for identifying and supporting outstanding students in mathematics, as well as a mathematical model for monitoring learning and preparation, implemented in both education and sports.

Under his mentorship the Bulgarian national mathematics team won the world title in 2003 in Japan.

Prof. Grozdev is the editor-in-chief of the Mathematics and Informatics journal, which is indexed in the Web of Science. Since 1992, he has been the founder and editor-in-chief of the Mathematics Plus journal, and he is also a co-publisher of the International Journal of Computer Discovered Mathematics.
