Traffic at Bulgaria’s border crossings was normal as of 6 am Border Police said on Saturday.

The Border police recalled that, even though Bulgaria has been part of the Shengen area since March 31, 2024, border control checks have been reinstated at the Bulgarian-Romanian borderJune 30, 2025.

Major repairs on the Danube Bridge at Ruse narrowed vehicles to a single lane, with contractor staff directing the flow.

Reconstruction at Stanke Lisichkovo reduced lanes, but crossings with the Republic of North Macedonia continued to run smoothly.

On the frontier with Greece, construction on the Rudozem–Xanthi road inside Greek territory restricted access to authorised personnel only. At Makaza, Zlatograd and Ivaylovgrad, crossing is limited to passenger cars and minivans weighing up to 3.5 t.

Traffic stayed steady at all points on the borders with Turkiye and Serbia.
