Independent presidential candidate Daniel Funeriu said he voted for a Western-oriented Romania, where people live "in truth" and are guided by a "moral compass."
A doctor of chemistry, 53-year-old Daniel Funeriu is a former Minister of Education in the government of Emil Boc (2009-2012). He has lived abroad for a long time, where he studied and worked.
Daniel Funeriu is running as an independent candidate in this year's elections. He defines himself as a sovereignist candidate, in the spirit of the constitution, but says that the solutions he proposes distinguish him from Calin Georgescu.
