Three patients injured in the March 16 fire in a disco in Kocani, North Macedonia, have been discharged after treatment in the Pirogov accident and emergency hospital in Sofia. A 21-year-old man is the only one of eight patients admitted there on March 16 who is still being treated.

The three patients released on Friday are aged between 16 and 19. As with the four patients injured in the Kocani tragedy who were sent home on April 8, the teams fought around the clock to save their lives.

"All the injured young people underwent nearly 30 major surgeries and over 240 minor procedures," said Prof. Maya Argirova, Head of the Burns and Plastic Surgery Department.

The last patient still being treated in Sofia is in stable condition.

On April 11, three patients injured in the fire in Kocani were discharged after treatment in hospitals in Plovdiv and Varna. The two hospitals had admitted three patients each after the incident.
