For the first time in 18 years, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday will visit the headquarters of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), where he will hold talks with leader Ozgur Ozel.
The meeting is scheduled for 4 pm.

The opposition Republican People's Party came first in the local elections on March 31 this year and after the victory Ozgur Ozel took the initiative and for the first time in eight years visited Erdoğan at the headquarters of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) where they talked for nearly one and a half hours.

Tuesday's meeting is in fact a return visit by Erdogan to the visit Ozel had paid him last month, which passed in a constructive and productive atmosphere, TRT's Haber informed, against the backdrop of warming up of relations after their first meeting last month. Erdogan promised then that he would return the visit and visit AKP headquarters in Ankara in person.
According to pro-government media outlets such as Sabah and Hurriyet Daily News, the talks are expected to discuss issues related to the draft of a new constitution, which is backed by Erdogan and his ally Devlet Bahçeli. And foreign policy issues are expected to focus on the Palestinian problem.

And according to the opposition media, Ozel will focus on Turkey's current domestic political problems - the rising cost of living, low pensions, and low incomes.

A few days ago, Ozgur Ozel, in a statement to the parliamentary group of the CHP, called on the government to increase next month the minimum wage, which is currently around 17,000 Turkish liras, and the amount of pensions.
