Foreign Minister Nikolay Milkov talked by phone with his Romanian counterpart Bogdan Aurescu. The conversation followed up on a recent visit of Romanian President Klaus Iohannis to Bulgaria. The ministers discussed in detail the further coordination of the common efforts for full-fledged Schengen membership of the two countries, said the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry on Friday.

Minister Milkov raised the issue of Friday’s decision of the Romanian financial regulator ASF with regards to the largest Bulgarian investor in Romania Euroins Romania. Bulgaria takes into consideration ASF’s autonomy and the right to make decisions within its competence. Meanwhile, the Bulgarian authorities believe the such a decision should be preceded by the conclusions of the competent EU institutions.

Minister Aurescu agreed that measures should be taken to mitigate the effects of the decision.
