site.bta5.4-Magnitude Earthquake Recorded in Southeastern Turkiye

A 5.4-magnitude earthquake was recorded at 10:40 a.m. local time (also Bulgarian time) on Thursday in the southeastern Turkish province of Sanliurfa, according to information on the website of Turkiye’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).

The earthquake, with its epicentre in the city of Karakopru, was also felt in the neighbouring provinces of Diyarbakir, Mardin, Siirt, Sirnak, Batman, Gaziantep, Adiyaman and Malatya.

There were no initial reports of casualties or damage to buildings.

Turkish Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu said in a post on his Facebook account that there were no reports of damage to roads or communications networks.
