A delegation led by senior commissioner Alexander Dzhartov, head of the Fire Safety and Civil Protection Directorate, paid a visit to the Department of Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Romania. There, they met with the head of the department, Dr. Raed Arafat.

Arafat presented  the Romanian emergency system and its functions both from operational and legislative point of view, as well as focused on the organization of his department and the required staff training.

The Bulgarian delegation had the opportunity to visit the unified municipal emergency centre, a dispatch centre which coordinates every emergency structure under in the Emergency Department in Bucharest, including firefighters and ambulances. They were also shown the equipment at the disposal of the rescue firefighters.
