Residents of the eastern Romanian county of Tulcea, located near the Ukrainian border, received two messages early on Friday via the Ro-Alert warning system about the danger of falling objects, local media reported.

The country's Ministry of National Defense reported that radars detected a drone in Ukrainian airspace heading north of Tulcea County. However, the drone did not enter Romanian airspace and at 07:47 local (and Bulgarian) time the alert was canceled.

"The Ministry of National Defense constantly monitors the airspace, in close cooperation with NATO allies, to guarantee the security and territorial integrity of Romania," the ministry's position states.
