Romanian President Nicusor Dan met with the ambassadors of the European Union Member States accredited in Bucharest, the presidential administration announced on its official website Thursday. Among the participants in the meeting was Bulgarian Ambassador Radko Vlaykov.
During the event, the head of State confirmed Romania's commitment to its pro-European path and to strengthening security and defence in the current geopolitical context. He identified as priorities for the country the implementation of the measures from the Defence Readiness 2030 Roadmap, increasing military mobility, and the SAFE programme of the EU.
On his official Facebook profile, Dan said that during the meeting he also discussed the importance of strengthening European economic competitiveness and the need for an ambitious EU budget after 2027, which would maintain cohesion and agricultural policies as key pillars of convergence.
"Romania will continue to participate actively and constructively in all European debates in order to find the best solutions to current and future challenges. I would like to thank the ambassadors for their open and substantive dialogue and wish success to our Danish partners and to the future Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU," the Romanian head of State added.
