An exhibition by visual artist Aly Roshdy will be opened in Sofia. The vernissage of the exhibition Inside Out will take place on May 7 at Sofia Green Gallery, and the paintings will remain there until May 21, the Gallery said on Monday.

“In Inside Out, the idea of the window turns into a personal and global metaphor – a literal frame through which I have observed different cultures and landscapes, and a symbolic lens for documenting my travels. Through each view from a window, I capture moments of silence and contemplation in every country I have visited,” the author explained.

The exhibition will include a series of paintings and collages inspired by the artist’s travels, with each work presenting a specific place seen through a window. “My personal obsession with views from windows reflects an intimate connection with the spaces I have inhabited, turning each work into a memory frozen in time, yet open to interpretation by the viewer,” the artist added.

Roshdy works across various media, including video, painting, drawing and photography, combining classical and contemporary artistic practices. He is a lecturer and researcher at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cairo, and his works have been presented at international forums.
