Servicemen from the 38th Mechanized Battalion of the 2nd Mechanized Brigade took part in a joint training exercise with formations from the Hellenic Armed Forces, the Bulgarian Ministry of Defence announced on Monday. The training was held on October 12-18 at the Urban Warfare National Training Centre in Kilkis.

During the preparation, the troops carried out tactical exercises in reconnaissance, patrolling, and clearing populated areas. Live-fire drills were also conducted at short and point-blank range, with an emphasis on close-quarters combat and operations in confined spaces.

The joint training contributed to enhancing operational interoperability and building trust between the Bulgarian and Greek Armed Forces, the statement said.
