Bulgaria's Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Galab Donev has visited the Institute for Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Technology (INSAIT) at Sofia University at Sofia Tech Park, the Finance Ministry's press centre said.

Donev assured the institute's founder and scientific director, Prof. Martin Vechev, and Executive Director Borislav Petrov that INSAIT is of strategic importance to the government and that its work is a priority for the Finance Ministry. The institute relies on EUR 7.3 million in state budget funding, and the funds will also be included in the 2027 budget plan, Donev added.

During his visit to Sofia Tech Park, the Deputy Prime Minister met the team that is successfully developing digital transformation and turning Bulgaria into a hub for the advancement of artificial intelligence and robotics in Europe, Asia, and America. The institute attracts professors and PhD students from around the world and represents an exceptional opportunity for Bulgarian scientists to apply their knowledge and skills in Bulgaria, the press release said.
