In a post on Facebook on Sunday, the Environment and Water Ministry said that heavy rainfall is expected again on Monday.

Rain will begin overnight from the west and will spread to the eastern parts of the country, the Ministry noted.

The Ministry warns that an orange weather warning has been issued by the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) for 10 regions in southern Bulgaria - Blagoevgrad, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv, Smolyan, Kardzhali, Haskovo, Stara Zagora, Sliven, Yambol, and Burgas. In Burgas Region, which already experienced flooding on Friday, heavy rainfall is expected again, particularly overnight Monday into Tuesday.

A yellow warning is in place for 14 more regions, while only four regions - Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, and Pleven - remain without any weather warnings.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, the weather will remain cloudy and rainy, with more intense rainfall expected in eastern and northern Bulgaria. Temperatures will drop, with lows between 5C and 10C and highs between 10C and 15C.

Rainfall is expected to stop on Thursday, when daytime temperatures will rise by 4 or 5 degrees.

The Ministry urges citizens to follow the latest weather forecasts from NIMH and be cautious when travelling in affected areas.
