The catalogue accompanying the exhibition “Painting with Wool and Silk: Flanders and France, 16th–18th Centuries”, organized by the National Gallery and the St. Cyril and St. Methodius International Foundation, will be officially presented at Kvadrat 500 at 6 p.m. on September 12, the organizers said.
According to the team, the collective monograph brings together the results of extensive research, attribution, and material analysis, and documents the complex and meticulous process of conservation and restoration of the works.
The exhibition titled “Painting with Wool and Silk: Flanders and France, 16th–18th Centuries from the National Gallery Collection” has been extended until September 14 due to high public interest. For the first time, the National Gallery is showcasing its unique collection of Western European textile panels (tapestries).
The exhibition is curated by Yoana Tavitian. The restoration team includes Dr. Elitsa Tsvetkova, Tanya Maneva, Svetla Sokolova, Diana Minkova, Masha Bakalova-Yosifova, Kamelia Bachorska-Tsenkova, and Kosara Ninova.
