On the second day of his official visit to Montenegro on Tuesday, Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov will unveil a bust of Prince Alexander I of Battenberg at the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Montenegro, the government information service said.

One of the prince's greatest contributions to the Bulgarian people was the unification of the Principality of Bulgaria and Eastern Rumelia, a historic event that marked its 140th anniversary this year.

Zhelyazkov will also deliver a public lecture to students at the University of Montenegro.

The official Bulgarian delegation includes Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Grozdan Karadzhov, Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh, and Minister of Health Silvi Kirilov, who will meet with their Montenegrin counterparts.

On the first day of the visit, Prime Minister Zhelyazkov met with Montenegro Prime Minister Milojko Spajic and with Montenegro President Jakov Milatovic.

The ministers of transport of the two countries, Grozdan Karadzhov and Maja Vukicevic, signed a bilateral declaration of cooperation expressing the countries’ intention to establish a direct air service connecting the capitals Sofia and Podgorica.

Health Minister Silvi Kirilov, and his Montenegrin counterpart Vojislav Simun, discussed bilateral cooperation in the field of healthcare, according to the Bulgarian Ministry of Health.
Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh also held talks with his Montenegrin counterpart, Simonida Kordic.

“Bulgaria is a steadfast supporter of Montenegro’s European perspective,” said Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov in Podgorica after the signing of documents between the two countries.
