Continue the Change leader (CC) Assen Vassilev commented on GERB leader Boyko Borissov’s statement earlier on Friday that there should be a single centre-right candidate for President by saying that his party wants to nominate a joint presidential candidate together with some of the parties, one that can defeat GERB’s candidate, and not a joint candidate with GERB. 

“Instead of preparing people for posts next year, it would be better if we actually got some real work done,” Vassilev added, pointing to CC’s proposals for maternity compensation during the second year after childbirth when the mother returns to work, and for young doctors.

Asked about Borissov’s call for the release of Varna Mayor Blagomir Kotsev, Vassilev said he was glad that Borissov had finally realized this was a purely political charge fabricated against Kotsev and that there was no reason for him to be kept in custody. “If Borissov is really sincere in these thoughts, he should have come to the protest in Varna last night and shared them there,” Vassilev added.
