There must be a compelling reason that would not divert us from our European orientation, from the European Union, Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) MP Aleksandar Simidchiev said when asked by journalists whether they would support the third vote of no confidence in the Zhelyazkov Cabinet, tabled on Friday by Vazrazhdane and supported by Velichie and Morality, Unity, Honour (MECh) party.

The third vote of no confidence in the Zhelyazkov Cabinet is over what is considered the Government's failure in the field of fiscal policy and the eurozone. The Cabinet, supported by the current ruling coalition, is deepening fiscal imbalances and is not taking the necessary urgent measures to restore the sustainability of Bulgaria's public finances, Vazrazhdane said in its statement. According to them, the government is pursuing “incorrectly set goals, based on false statistical data, overly optimistic macroeconomic forecasts, and unrealistic expectations for tax revenue collection.”
