More than 2,000 people with permanent disabilities will receive high-tech assistive devices under a project of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, the Ministry reported on Friday. They will receive certificates in the post in the coming weeks, after which they will be able to choose who will supply them with the appropriate aid from a list of approved suppliers.
Eleven types of aid will be available, among which portable Braille computers, Braille displays, screen reader software, electric verticalizing wheelchairs, electric wheelchair motors, nerve and muscle stimulators, myoelectric or modular prostheses that are custom-made based on individual specifications.
Those in need of such assistance will be able to receive it as part of an investment under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
