site.btaInternational Fireworks Festival Kicks Off in Panagyurishte

Panagyurishte is hosting the International Fireworks Festival for yet another year, the municipality’s press service said.

From June 13 to 15, three competing teams - from Germany, Portugal, and Lithuania - will put on fireworks displays set to music of their choice. All teams are provided with the same number and type of pyrotechnic materials, effects, calibres, and colours. The programme begins with a two-minute, non-competitive display from each team, followed by a judged competition segment lasting between three and seven minutes. The winner will be announced at the close of the final night and will earn a place in next year’s festival.

In addition to the competition, a special opening fireworks display will be performed by Fiery Chrysanthemum Ltd.

Each evening will also feature a musical lineup. Friday’s performances include Rebels with soloist Gabriela Spasova, Kerana and the Cosmonauts, and DJ Stefan Dega. Saturday will feature Dicho, Stanley, and DJ Lazarony, while Sunday’s stage will welcome Filip Donkov and Lubo Kirov.

The festival was launched in Panagyurishte in 2013, drawing visitors from Bulgaria and abroad. Last year’s event featured teams from Germany, France, and Portugal.

The International Fireworks Festival is organized by Panagyurishte Municipality and Fiery Chrysanthemum Ltd., with Asarel-Medet as the main sponsor and additional support from Optix JSC.
