The President’s Office on Friday rejected responsibility for the lack of professional leadership at the Interior Ministry. “The presidential institution has not received a written proposal to coordinate the appointment of a Secretary General of the Interior Ministry,” the press secretariat said.
Regarding claims by GERB’s leader that “we do not have a Secretary General [of the Interior Ministry] because Radev has not approved one,” the press secretariat said the presidential institution had not received a written proposal to coordinate the appointment of a Secretary General in accordance with the Rules of Organization of the Council of Ministers.
Earlier in the day, GERB leader Boyko Borissov said the Interior Ministry does not have a Secretary General because Radev refuses to approve an appointee. "Let [Prime Minister Rosen] Zhelyazkov say if he has proposed a new secretary general," Borissov added.
