site.btaEducation Ministry Presents Inaugural Inclusive Education Awards

Minister of Education and Science Krasimir Valchev presented the first National Awards for Inclusive Education, the Ministry press centre said on Wednesday. The initiative, organized by the Regional Centre for Supporting the Process of Inclusive Education in Sofia, aims is to honour individuals and educational institutions that create a supportive environment for children.

The ceremony was attended by UNICEF Representative in Bulgaria Christina de Bruin who said that Bulgaria has achieved impressive success in the inclusive education system. She noted that UNICEF believes in the cause of inclusive education, because it is a foundation for development.

Experts in various fields, schools and kindergartens were awarded.

Partners of the initiative are the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Arts at Sofia University and the National Association of Resource Teachers.
