Parliamentary Committee on Culture and Media Unanimously Approves BTA’s 2024 Report

The Parliamentary Committee on Culture and Media unanimously approved the Bulgarian News Agency's (BTA) 2024 annual report here on Thursday.

The report was presented by BTA’s Director General Kiril Valchev and was supported with 12 votes in favor, with no votes against or abstentions.

Kiril Valchev noted that he has set five strategic goals for his five-year term: freedom, truth, knowledge, community, and memory. He pointed out that in terms of freedom, 2024 marks the third consecutive year in which access to BTA content has remained open. Last year, additional measures were taken to ensure the security of the agency’s servers and domains.
