Between May 16 and 18, Sofia will welcome representatives of Australian Business in Europe (ABIE), a network of Australia-related business organizations that are active in more than 19 European countries, the Bulgarian-Australian Business Council (BABC) said in a press release on Wednesday. Bulgaria will host the ABIE leadership’s annual meeting for the second time.

During their visit to Sofia, ABIE leaders will discuss key strategic priorities aimed at strengthening trade, investment, and diplomatic ties between Australia and Europe, as well as future joint initiatives and projects.

The forum will open on Friday, May 16, with an official reception that will bring together Australian diplomats, Bulgarian government representatives, international entrepreneurs, and leading regional business figures.

Among the official guests are Lachlan Scully, Deputy Head of Mission at the Australian Embassy covering Greece, Bulgaria, and Romania, Tony Richard-Preston, Capital Markets Consultant for V Technologies in Europe, a cybersecurity innovator, and Peter McMahon, Aviation Rescue Services' Managing Director and representative of Australian fire services.

As per tradition, the core sessions of the ABIE annual meeting will be held behind closed doors, BABC said.
