An exhibition, titled “Athos in Drawings and Photographs” by Andrey Yanev and Miroslav Dachev can be viewed at the Bulgarian Cultural Institute (BCI) in Berlin (located at Leipziger Str. 114–115, 10117 Berlin) until May 8, said the Institute.
The exhibition was opened in the gallery of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Berlin on April 8 with the blessing of Metropolitan Anthony. The presented works are the result of more than fifty expeditions of the two authors to Mount Athos over the course of twenty years, the Institute indicated.
"Andrei Yanev is an artist whose name is associated with numerous painting exhibitions in Bulgaria and abroad, with a number of creative national and international projects, with prestigious awards in the field of art. Mount Athos is one of the main themes of his work, through which he is recognized both in Bulgaria and in various European countries, in the USA and China,” the BCI said.
Miroslav Dachev is a professor of semiotics of art at the National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts and a corresponding member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Author of nine volumes of the series Athoniada, which is published with the blessing of Mount Athos and is part of the collections of all Athos monasteries, various world libraries and the Vatican Library, the BCI said.
