Several Bulgarian and Romanian language model classrooms in the southern Taraclia district have been equipped with modern furniture, digital tools, and interactive teaching materials as part of an educational initiative, the Moldpres news agency said. The project aims to strengthen the linguistic skills of students from ethnic minority communities.

Romanian language model classes were improved at two institutions: the Theoretical Lyceum in Tvardita and the Hristo Botev Theoretical Lyceum in Valea Perjei. With a total investment of RON 300,000, these classrooms received new furniture, interactive boards, printers, and educational resources such as synonym and antonym dictionaries, portraits of Romanian authors, linguistic maps, and specialized literature.

Bulgarian language model classes also saw enhancements in four schools: Hristo Botev Lyceum (Valea Perjei), the Theoretical Lyceum (Tvardita), Paisii Hilendarski Lyceum (Corten village), and Ivan Inzov Gymnasium (Taraclia). These were equipped with interactive boards, computers, multifunctional printers, Bulgarian literature, portraits of Bulgarian cultural figures, maps, and Romanian-Bulgarian dictionaries.

The Bulgarian language project, valued at EUR 24,000, was supported by the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Bulgarian Embassy in Chisinau, and local NGOs including the Scientific Society of Bulgarians in Moldova and the Association for the Development of the Bulgarian Community from Moldova.

Ivan Duminica, head of the Interethnic Relations Policy Service at the Moldovan Ministry of Education and Research, highlighted the significance of these efforts in fostering inclusive and high-quality education for ethnic minorities.
