Veliko Tarnovo police officers detained a Bulgarian woman and a German citizen who were declared wanted, the press centre of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Veliko Tarnovo said on Wednesday.

Around 5:30 am on Tuesday, during a specialized police operation of the Veliko Tarnovo Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior, a search was carried out in a residence in the village of Gorna Lipnitsa. A 30-year-old German national, wanted from his home country on a European arrest warrant, was found and detained there. The competent services have been informed.

Officers of the Regional Police Department in Veliko Tarnovo also detained a 29-year-old Bulgarian woman, who was declared wanted. Yesterday afternoon, a search was carried out on a woman from Strazhitsa in the regional town, during which it was established that she is wanted from Belgium with a European arrest warrant in connection with financial and economic crimes. She was detained for up to 24 hours and the competent authorities were informed, the statement said.
