site.btaDefence Minister Zapryanov: Support for Ukraine Remains Bulgaria's Priority
The caretaker Minister of Defence Atanas Zapryanov who spoke at the second conference on security in the Black Sea in the framework of the International Crimea Platform here on Monday said that support for Ukraine will remain the focus of the caretaker government's defence policy. The conference is jointly organized by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defence of the Republic of Bulgaria and Ukraine, in partnership with Ukraine's Centre for Defence Strategies.
Zapryanov said that Russia is using destabilization as a tool to achieve its long-term strategic goals. The Kremlin uses hybrid methods of influence such as nuclear threats, cyberattacks and economic pressure, which poses a threat to our individual and common security, the Minister said.
Zapryanov reiterated Bulgaria's support for Ukraine's right to restore its territorial integrity. He said that Bulgaria is in favour of Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration.
