GERB party leader Boyko Borissov said in Kyustendil on Wednesday that he will seek to ensure stable governance after the snap parliamentary elections on April 19. "I promise you that I will not create problems and will try to ensure stable governance," Borisov told the city’s mayor, Ognyan Atanasov. The mayor emphasized the importance of a regular state budget and said that after the elections the parties would find common ground.

The two visited the Vladimir Dimitrov – The Master Art Gallery. Borissov said: "I would tolerate parties that think about stability and how to have regular governments, so that mayors, regardless of party affiliation, can look after the interests of their municipalities and citizens, rather than being 'harassed from mandate to mandate'."

He went on to note: "There is GERB – a 20-year-old party, with a model that involves the work of the state with municipalities, business, and all sectors." He added that there is no "Peevski-Borissov model," but there was "a year in which Bulgaria needed to join the eurozone, enter Schengen, and recover funds under the Recovery and Resilience Plan, which required [a voting majority of] 121 MPs." Borissov said he worked with Slavi Trifonov, Gutsanov, Zafirov, and Peevski to make it happen.

"We are running a positive campaign, showing what we have achieved, including over the past year – art galleries, renovated apartment blocks, stadiums, athletics tracks, and parks," he added.
