The conditions for mountain hiking are good, the Mountain Rescue Service said on Friday morning. It is sunny with a light wind. Fog and a moderate to strong wind are reported only for Botev Peak in the Balkan Mountains.

There is a snow cover at altitudes above 1,900 to 2,000 metres. Bansko in Mount Pirin is the only resort operating for winter sports.

The mountains will have mostly sunny weather in the morning. Clouds and isolated showers with a moderate northwesterly are forecast for the afternoon, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology said. Highs: 14C at 1,200 m, 5C at 2,000 m.
