The conditions for hiking in the mountains on Saturday are good, the Mountain Rescue Service (PRS) told BTA. The weather in the mountains is sunny and quiet, in places there are broken clouds and light wind. Temperatures are around 0C to minus 3C-4C in the highest parts of the mountains.

Lift facilities in mountain resorts are working.

Mountain rescuers are advising hikers to stay on trails, stay off marked trails and hike in the mountains early in the morning. Hikers should be well prepared for winter conditions because there are 30-40 cm of new snow cover above 1,500 metres. 

No incidents involving tourists have been reported in the past 24 hours.
