In addition to the fact that in the Turkish capital, students have the opportunity to study Bulgarian studies at the Faculty of Languages, History and Geography of Ankara University, people of different ages can study the Bulgarian language within the framework of courses organized by the Balkan Immigrants Economic Research and Social Assistance Foundation (BIERSAF).

The courses are completely free and are held twice a week at the headquarters of the foundation in the center of the Turkish capital.

There is a great interest in Bulgarian language courses, Yuksel Ozkale, President of the Balkan Immigrants Economic Research and Social Assistance Foundation told BTA. Ozkale himself is also studying Bulgarian.

BIERSAF is the largest association of expatriates from the Balkans in Ankara and was founded 24 years ago. Ozkale has been at the head of the foundation for 12 years.

Mutual dialogue and familiarization with traditions is a good basis for the development of cultural relations between two countries. The best approach to getting to know two peoples is to know each other's languages, Ozkale argued.

He pointed out the support provided by the Bulgarian embassy in Turkiye for the conduct of the courses.
