The Sofia Philharmonic will treat classical music lovers to an exciting evening on February 25 with Mozart's Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 21 and Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings. The soloist will be Italian pianist Federico Colli, who will be performing with the Sofia Philharmonic for the first time. The show will be led by famous Korean conductor Youngmin Park.

Colli has gained international acclaim for his unconventional interpretations and bell-clear sound. He studied at the Milan Conservatory. His early successes included the first prize at the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg, Austria (2011) and a gold medal from the Leeds International Piano Competition in the UK (2012).

He has performed with the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra and the Philharmonic Orchestra in St Petersburg, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic. Colli has demonstrated his musical prowess in major venues in Europe, Asia and the US.

During the COVID pandemic Colli created an educational series of short videos for his YouTube channel, aimed to let viewers rediscover Mozart's Fantasia No. 4 in C minor, K. 475, and place the great composer's musical ideas in a cultural and historical context.

Tickets to the Sofia show are available at the ticket office of Bulgaria Hall and via Eventim.bg.
