Photos of Ukraine War Go on Display in Sofia

A photo exhibition titled "Ukraine - struggle for life, freedom and democracy" opened in Sofia on Tuesday. "It aims to bring back the focus on the events in Ukraine and the war," said the leader of the BOEC association, Georgi Georgiev, in his opening remarks.

The initiative for the exhibition came from BOEC and its first host is the district administration of Sofia's Studentski Borough. The opening event was attended by Studentski borough mayor Petko Goranov, the Chairman of the Association of Ukrainian organizations in Bulgaria, Olena Kotseva, as well as Brigadier General Radostin Iliev from the Defence Ministry.

The exhibition will be shown next in the Central Military Club in Sofia.

Studentski Borough Mayor Petko Goranov explained that the war in Ukraine has opened a wound that will not heal anytime soon, and may never heal. According to him, people with democratic values are watching what is happening in this country, which is fighting for survival. It is important to show solidarity and support, he added.
