site.btaCabinet Allocates BGN 25 Mln for Arts, Sports in School, Another BGN 10 Mln under Four Education Programmes

The Council of Ministers allocated BGN 24,772,019 to municipal, state and private schools under the Together in Arts and Sports National Programme. The programme aims to provide conditions for personal development of students and to encourage them to perform in team sports and arts. Its budget totals BGN 45,000,000.

In the field of sport, the programme finances 1,224 educational institutions in order for them to create basketball, volleyball, handball and football teams and participate in competitions. The allocated funds cover the cost of sportwear, coaching, sports equipment, among others. The attendance at sports competitions and events is also funded.

Additional BGN 9,792,451 will be allocated for activities under four national education development programmes – BGN 8,586,196 for the creation or renovation of classrooms and rooms for interest activities, BGN 805,164 for stimulating innovative practices in work with children, BGN 262,550 for anti-violence and aggression activities, and BGN 138,541 for school projects on historical past.
